About Ico Fest

In 2012, Island Creek Oysters hosted 4,000 of their closest friends in the dunes of Duxbury Beach for the 6th annual Island Creek Oyster Festival—a celebration of the fall oyster harvest and the ability of this iconic New England shellfish to bring people together. The crowd included 40 of the country’s best chefs from Boston, NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, and Miami, a who’s who of the beverage industry avant-garde, and a talented cadre of musicians. 100% of the proceeds were donated to Island Creek Oysters Foundation’s sustainable fish-farming efforts in Haiti and Zanzibar.

After a two-year hiatus, the festival is returning to the 2015 events calendar in Boston’s white-hot innovation district at the Lawn on D. The event aims to deliver the same high quality food experience alongside an amped up music and art component. It is our hope that the Festival can satiate the city’s ever-growing appetite for a cultural event that marries food, art, and music on equal footing in one stunning evening. We’d love for you to be a part of it.

Commonly asked

FAQ

Commonly asked

FAQ

Q:  What do I get for $75?

A:  Your $75 ticket gets you entrance to the event, access to all music and art for your viewing/ listening pleasure, and small plates from 30 of the best chefs we know.  It also checks your charity box for the day as all the proceeds go to Island Creek Oysters Foundation.

Q:  What about beer, wine, and oysters?

A:  $5 tokens will get you ½ dozen oysters. $6 for a beer or glass of wine.

Q:  What time should I get there?

A:  Will call will be open at 3 and doors open at 4pm.  It’s a jam packed schedule so we recommend coming on time to make sure you don’t miss anything, especially food from the chefs!

Q:  What the heck is the Lawn on D?

A:  The Lawn is an art park and event space in South Boston’s Seaport area.  It is right behind the Convention Center and began hosting events last summer.  Its an outside venue so dress for the weather.

Q:  How do I get there?

A:  Located walking distance from the World Trade Center Station on the Silver Line and the South Station or Broadway stops on the Red Line. There is also a Hubway bike station in front of the BCEC on Summer Street. Depending on BCEC event calendars, BCEC parking may be available during major events at The Lawn on D.

Q:  Is there Wi Fi?

A:  We don’t recommend slurping and surfing at the same time, but if you need a fix we’ve got you covered (for free).

Q:  What do I do with my kids?

A:  We’re working on it, but the event is 21 plus this year.  We don’t have enough space at the Lawn to incorporate a kid’s component and we don’t want to be harassing you for an ID each time you get a drink all evening.

Q:  What will my experience be like if I’m handicapped?

A:  No worries—we thought of that!  There will be seating available in the beer garten tent and a designated handicap seating area by the main stage.

Q:  Can I get my money back if I can’t make it for some reason?

A:  Sorry—you can’t.  We need that money for startup capital for fish farmers in Haiti and Africa.  Sell it to a friend or chalk it up to a gain in positive energy, but don’t call the office!

Q:  What if it rains?

A:  Rain date is Sunday, the following day.  If it’s still raining, bring your jacket and galoshes.

Q:  What should I bring to Fest?

A:  Some friends, a good attitude, and maybe what you’d carry in your purse or pockets.

Q:  What shouldn’t I bring?

A:
Smokes?
no smoking.

Your own hooch?
no drinking alcohol you don’t buy on site.

Chairs?
there’s no room for outside chairs, plan on standing up or sitting in what we provide.

Blankets?
ditto.

Lawn games etc?
its more of a 4 hr party than an all day festival.

Guns, knives, or other nasties?
Not that you would, just trying to cover all of our bases here.

Q:  Can I buy merch at the Fest?

A:  We’re addicted to t shirts. There will be lots and lots of t shirts (and other cool shwag).

Q: How can I get to the Fest?

A: Bridj will be providing shuttle transportation between South Station and the Lawn on D. Trips will leave every 5 minutes outside South Station (on the Summer Street side). If you choose to drive, Luxe will be providing valet parking. More info here.
